European Communities (Bluetongue) (Restrictions on Import) Regulations 2006 (S.I. No. 703 of 2006).

These Regulations provide import restrictions due to the incidence of bluetongue in certain parts of the European Community. A person shall not import an animal of a species susceptible to bluetongue or the semen, ova or embryo of an animal susceptible to bluetongue from an area specified in the Annex to the Commission Decision 393/2005 as regards the restricted zones in relation to bluetongue. A person shall not have in his or her possession or under his or her control an animal, semen, ova or embryo the importation of which is prohibited. The Regulations also specify powers of authorized officers.
