Abstract
These Regulations give effect to Commission Regulation 2007/1266/EC (as amended) regarding the control, monitoring, surveillance and restrictions on movements of certain animals of susceptible species in relation to bluetongue and implement in Ireland Council Directive No. 2000/75/EC.
The Regulations make provision with respect to, among other things; notification of suspected outbreak to the District Veterinary Office; declaration of a suspected bluetongue outbreak premise or a confirmed bluetongue outbreak premise; establishment of control zones around suspected premises; establishment of protection and surveillance zones; measures regarding diseased animals; assessment of compensation and arbitration; and powers of authorized officers.
