Abstract
These Regulations provide a framework to introduce detailed rules in respect of chemically treated cereal seed, genetically modified cereal varieties, varieties suitable for organic production and conservation of plant genetic resources. The Minister, or any person or body authorized by the Minister for the purpose, shall be the official authority for the State for the purposes of these Regulations and of the directive. Cereal seed (as defined by reg. 2) shall not be imported unless conditions set out in regulation 4A are met. Cereal seed shall not be placed on the market unless conditions set out in regulation 5 are met. Regulation 9 sets out labeling requirements. The Register of Cereal Seed Processors and Importers shall continue to exist and be maintained by the Minister (21 regulations)
