European Communities (Classical Swine Fever) Regulations 2012 (S.I. No. 516 of 2012).

These Regulations implement Council Directive 2001/89/EC (as amended) on Community measures for the control of classical swine fever. They provide for measures to control the disease such as notification, quarantine, cleansing and disinfection, establishment of protection and surveillance zones, restrictions of movement, establishment of part of Ireland as infected area, etc. The Regulations also prohibit vaccination, except under a notice issued by the Minister, and provide with respect to inspections and powers of enforcement, arbitration in case of dissent with the decision of the Minister and compensation.
