Abstract
These Regulations give effect to a number of European Regulations concerning food and feed hygiene legislation, insofar as they relate to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, revising and consolidating legislation in relation to the production, control and marketing of food and feed. The Regulations define offences for purposes of the implementation of Community legislation.
The Regulations require registration of a food business or a feed business in the register maintained for the purposes of Article 6 of Regulation No. 852/2004 or Article 9 of Regulation No. 183/2005. They also require food business and feed business to be approved and prescribe the form of registration for primary producers of feed and food including fishery products.
Other matters covered by these Regulations concern, among other things, undesirable substances in feedingstuffs, salmonella in food and feed, records, functions of authorized officers, measures of enforcement and emergency measures.
