Abstract
These Regulations supplement the provisions in the European Community Regulations relating to the application of quality standards for crops and oils, including fresh fruit and vegetables, by providing the necessary powers for authorized officers and by prescribing penalties for offences. The Regulations prescribe offences in relation with the marketing of fruit, vegetables, hops, hemp, olive oil or pomace oil. The Regulations also, among other things, confer powers upon authorized officers to serve compliance notices on the owner or person who appears to be in charge, possession or control of a premises or crop or oil and to take certain emergency measures. The European Communities (Agriculture, Fisheries and Food) (Compliance) Regulations 2009 shall apply to these Regulations and to European legislation supplemented by these Regulations.
