Abstract
These Regulations allow a plan for wild fisheries to be prepared by the Minister or a person affected by a designation of an area used for sea fishing as a special protection area. The objective of this plan is to assist in the achievement of the objectives of Council Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora or Council Directive 79/409/EEC on the conservation of wild birds, so far as sea fisheries has an impact on the achievement of those objectives, in a site to which the plan relates. These Regulations prescribe rules relative to the preparation and assessment of the plan. They also allow the Minister to grant a fisheries permit for fishing in the area and to attach conditions to such permit. They further provide for offences and penalties.
