Abstract
This Law consisting of 21 articles aims at establishing rules to grow and treat organic agricultural produce. It prohibits (i) to present or offer for sale any agricultural product as organic without the permit of the Inspection and Certification Body for labeling with the Inspection Logo; (ii) the sale of a product that does not bear both the Uniform Organic Logo and the Inspection Logo; (iii) to mark any agricultural produce with Logos without possessing a permit, according to the provisions of this Law. Art.3 provides for the conditions for the accreditation of Inspection and Certification Body and its Logo (names of all approved Inspection and Certification Bodies and their logos are published in the Official Gazette). Art.6 deals with permit issuance, renewal and cancellation. According to art.11 the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development is entitled to nominate appropriately trained inspectors from the Ministry staff to supervise the implementation of the provisions of this Law, while art.12 indicates the authorized actions in case of suspected violation of provisions of this Law.
