Abstract
Section 1A states the following land shall be covered under the provisions of this Act, a. land that has been declared or notified as a forest in accordance with the provisions of the Indian Forest Act, 1927; and b. land that is not covered under clause (a), but has been recorded in Government record as forest, as on or after the 25th October, 1980. It also mentions the land that will not be covered under this Act. Section 2 provides for the restriction of powers of authorities to cancel the status of forests as reserved forests and prohibits the use of forest land for non-forest purposes (other than reafforestation). Section 3 grants the right to the Central Government to constitute a forest conservation advisory committee and provides for regulation making powers of the Central Government to carry out provisions of this Act.
