Abstract
These Instructions, consisting of 8 articles, provide primarily for the following: (i) the General Company for Animal Wealth Services shall, through an announcement in the Official Gazette, (a) specify the periods during which fishing, marketing, and selling are prohibited (excluding fish raised in fish farms and marine fish), and (b) designate areas where fishing is prohibited by governorate; (ii) the ban applies to (a) renters of water bodies, (b) licensed professional and amateur fishermen, (c) anyone fishing with any gear, whether legal or illegal, licensed or unlicensed, rented or otherwise, (d) wholesale and retail fish sellers, (e) itinerant fish sellers, (f) fish marketers, wholesale and retail, and (g) restaurants specializing in river fish; (iii) procedures to be followed if a violator of these instructions is apprehended by the relevant authorities; (iv) entry into the residence of a person suspected of possessing river fish is permitted only with approval from competent authorities; and (v) the destination of confiscated assets.
