Act No. 66 on Land and Forest Iceland.

The present Act lays down rules on Land and forest Iceland, which shall be the joint institution of the Icelandic Soil Conservation and Forestry Agency as of 1 January 2024. The Agency shall supervise and administer the implementation of the Act on Land Reclamation and the Act on Forests and Forestry. It shall also handle day-to-day administration in accordance with the laws, other laws that the organization operates under and international agreements that relate to the organization's subjects. The tasks of the Agency are: 1) Implementation of the Act on Soil Conservation and the Act on Forests and Forestry, regulations and other government directives regarding the issue of soil conservation and forestry; 2) to work on and according to the national plan for soil conservation and forestry; 3) to provide assistance and advice to the minister in the preparation of laws, regulations and other projects in the field of soil conservation and forestry; and 4) other projects assigned to the Agency by laws, regulations or ministerial decision.
