Abstract
This regulation governs artificial insemination and embryo transfer in livestock, covering cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, rabbits, fur animals, and poultry. It establishes requirements for the licensing, operation, and supervision of semen and embryo collection centers, including hygiene protocols, staff qualifications, animal health checks, isolation of incoming animals, and record-keeping. Specific provisions address semen collection, storage, and transport, with frozen materials subject to strict containment and disinfection standards. Species-specific rules detail health monitoring and handling procedures for cattle, sheep, pigs, horses, poultry, and other animals, including insemination, embryo transfer, and DNA verification where applicable. Exceptions and temporary waivers can be granted by the Food and Veterinary Authority, and violations carry penalties of fines or imprisonment up to two years.
