Regional Act No. 11 making provision on marine fisheries and aquaculture.

This Regional Act lays down rules governing marine fisheries and aquaculture with a view to ensuring the rational exploitation and preservation of marine resources. Article 2 gives the definitions of “marine fisheries”, “aquaculture”, “professional fishing” and “fishing for scientific purposes”. The Region shall adopt a three-year plan outlining the interventions and initiatives to be undertaken in order to attain the above-mentioned objectives. An advisory body is set up in accordance with article 6, whereas article 7 provides for the establishment of a technical and scientific commission. Article 8 refers to the issue by the Regional Executive of concessions related to the zones falling within the maritime domain which may be used for aquaculture and scientific purposes.
