Regional Act No. 25 providing for the development of fish population and fishery sector.

This Act regards the protection of fish population in the Lombardia Region internal waters. For this purpose the Region regulates the fishing in observance of the biological and environmental balance and having regard to the enhancement of fish population and to the protection of water quality. The Region also promotes research and experimentation activities in the fisheries sector and liberalises fishing and grants concessions for the establishment of new aquaculture and pisciculture plants. In terms of Article 7 it is established a Regional Fishing Board. Waters are classified in principal and secondary waters and a Regional Fishing Plan is established and protection and repopulation zones are constituted (Article 13). Article 15 provides for periods when fishing is allowed. Further are set norms for fishing for sport and for commercial purposes. The Region will provide financial contribution for fishing consortia and a fishing licence is compulsory for fishing in Lombardia internal waters. Title VIII is devoted to penalties. (51 Articles)
