Regional Act No. 32 regulating and promoting organic farming in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region.

This Regional Act promotes the spreading of organic methods of production and encourages the transformation, conservation and marketing of organic products. It regulates the monitoring system related to organic farming, in order to protect consumers' health. Article 3 defines the functions that are entrusted to the Regional Entity for the Promotion and the Development of Agriculture (ERSA), which shall in particular: a) perform inspections on control organisms; b) elaborate and update the regional list of organic operators; c) contribute to technicians', producers' and tranformers' training; d) promote research and experimentation activities; e) contribute to informative campaigns on the benefits arising from the use of organic products; f) promote organic products; g) forward to the Governmental authorities the information requested. Article 7 regulates the controls to be carried out by authorized inspection bodies on organic farming operators as well as producers' associations. The competent inpection bodies shall issue the labels to be used for organic products. Article 9 specifies the requirements as well as the procedure to be followed by the President of the Regional Authority in order to recognize organic producers' associations.
