Abstract
This Regional Act promotes the production, transformation and marketing of organic products, in order to restrict pollution effects and protect farmers' as well as consumers' health. The Region shall elaborate an up-to-date list of organic farming operators, as provided for by article 8 of Legislative Decree No. 220 of 17 March 1995. Organic producers' associations may be recognized by the regional authority, in compliance with the requirements and the procedure laid down in article 4. Article 6 concerns in particular the withdrawal,under certain circumstances, of the recognition. Inspections on organic farming operators must be carried out by the authorized control organisms. The Regional Commission for Organic Farming, which exercises advisory functions, is established by article 10. Article 12 regulates the allocation of financial resources in favour of registered organic producers' associations.
