Regional Act No. 49 laying down provisions in matter of inspections on agricultural products obtained through organic methods.

This Regional Act makes provisions for the implementation at the regional level of Legislative Decree No. 220 of 1995 on organic agriculture. It refers as well to provisions laid down in Regulation 2092/91/EEC concerning the methods of organic agriculture and labelling requirements to be met by organic products.
Organic processing and organic production are subject to inspections carried out by the authorized control bodies referred to in the above-mentioned Legislative Decree. Such inspection bodies shall be controlled by the Regional Agency for the Development of the Agricultural and Forestry Sector (ARSIA), which shall submit to the regional authority the information concerning the results of the supervision. Article 3 provides for the regional list of the organic agriculture operators. Operators registered as agricultural producers shall participate in the financial aid scheme elaborated by the Region in order to support control and certification procedures.
