Abstract
This Act makes provision for with respect to public health in Jamaica.
The Act provides for the establishment of a Central Health Committee and Local Boards of Health and defines their functions and powers. The Central Health Committee shall advise the Minister and Local Boards on public health whereas the Local Boards shall have ample regulation-making powers including the power to provide rules regarding food hygiene and the collection of waste.
