National Cereals and Produce Board Act (Cap. 338).

This Act provides for the establishment of the National Cereals and Produce Board and defines its functions, powers and internal organization, regulates the marketing of and trade in maize, wheat and produce specified in the Schedule to this Act and provides for registration and licensing of millers and other measures to control the processing and marketing of products to which this Act applies. The Act consists of 34 sections divided into 8 Parts.
The National Cereals and Produce Board shall consist of Government officers and representatives of the cereals and maize growers. The principal function of the Board shall be to regulate or to control the collection, movement, storage, sale, purchase, transportation, marketing, processing, distribution, importation, exportation, disposal and supply of maize, wheat and scheduled agricultural produce. The Board may also buy, store, sell, import, export maize, wheat and scheduled agricultural produce and shall advise the Minister on the production of such products. The Board shall be responsible for the maintenance of national strategic reserves of maize, wheat and scheduled agricultural produce. The Board has various powers to regulate the trade in products to which this Act applies. No person shall carry on the business of a miller unless he or she is the holder of a miller's licence. The Board shall allocate products to be milled to licensed millers.
