Abstract
These Regulations are framed under the Fauna and Flora Protection Ordinance, No. 2 of 1937. They consists of 10 chapters: I. Preliminary; II. Strict Natural Reserves; III. National Parks; IV. Intermediate Zones; V. Sanctuaries; VI. Prescribed Animals; VII. Buffalo Kraals; VIII. Birds, Beasts, and Reptiles; IX. Flora; and X. Miscellaneous.
Chapter I contains the definitions. Chapter II provides for procedure to obtain permit for entry into a strict natural reserve. Chapter III allows for entry into a National Park for studying or observing after obtaining permit and paying the fees. Chapter IV regulates the entry into and activities permitted in intermediate zones. Chapter V permits killing of indigenous fish in a sanctuary. Chapter VI regulates and requires obtaining permit for hunting of certain animals mentioned therein. Chapter VII pertains to Buffalo Kraals and chapter VIII provides for certain activities in respect of birds, beats and reptiles. Chapter IX contains provisions for activities relating to flora including seeking permission for removing any plant and selling the same. Chapter X provides for procedure for obtaining licence required by the Ordinance to carry the business of a taxidermist or trade of animals. It also contains provisions in respect of appeals, officers authorized to stop and search, and working of advisory committee.
