Abstract
The Regulation prescribes the procedures for utilisation of Latvian waters, navigation regime therein, also the territories where diving is prohibited and restricted. It applies to ships, except warships located in Latvian waters. The Regulation further lays down restrictions of the navigation regime and provision of notification; measures in the event of bad weather; measures in the event of risks posed by the presence of ice; measures relating to marine casualties or incidents; radio communications and notification of marine safety information; transmission of information concerning certain ships; cargo, passenger and supply operations of ships; provision of places of refuge for ships in need of assistance; co-ordination of research and retrieval of ship wrecks and other activities to be performed in Latvian waters; territories where diving is restricted and prohibited; and traffic and safety.
