Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the procedures for the carrying out of formalities related to ships arriving in and departing from port. Reporting in relation to border checks, customs control and on cargos subject to the veterinary, phytosanitary, food safety control, control of safety of non-food products, quality and classification control at border crossing points in addition to this Regulation is regulated also by the regulatory enactments in the field of border control and customs control, as well as the regulatory enactments regarding veterinary, phytosanitary, food safety control, control of safety of non-food products, quality and classification control at border crossing points. Reporting regarding the need to perform expanded inspection within the scope of port State control is regulated by the regulatory enactments regarding procedures for the port State control. Reporting related to fishing operations and monitoring of catches prior to arrival of a fishing vessel into a port is regulated by the regulatory enactments in the field of fisheries. Observance of port formalities in accordance with the competence is controlled by the Latvian Naval Forces Coast Guard Service of the National Armed Forces, the State Border Guard, the customs authority of the State Revenue Service, the Food and Veterinary Service, the State stock company Maritime Administration of Latvia , the State Environmental Service, the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and port authorities.
