Abstract
This Government Decree establishes the procedure for registration and placing of biocidal products on consumer market. It shall be applicable to biocidal products classified in Annex 1, in particular biocidal products for combating pests (pesticides), insects (insecticides) and rodents. The Ministry of Public Health shall be responsible for assessment of biocidal products and issuance of registration certificate and authorization for placing of biocidal products on the market. Biocidal products, including those of reduced risk, shall be placed on the market and used on the territory of the Republic of Moldova exclusively after registration thereof by the Ministry of Public Health in accordance with the provisions of this Sanitary Regulation. Biocidal products shall be classified by degree of risk as toxic, very toxic and cancerogenic. Packaging of biocidal products must meet the following requirements: (a) biocidal products must be packed in such a way that they cannot be confused with foods, beverages or animal feed; (b) biocidal products available to the public that can be confused with foods, beverages or animal feed should have a package containing warning information prohibiting their consumption. Labels of biocidal products should not be misleading or create an exaggerated impression of the safety of the product and must in no case contain indications: "Biocidal product of reduced risk", "Nontoxic", "Not harmful to health" or any such indication.
