Abstract
This Directive concerns: (i) the authorization and the placing on the market for use of biocidal products within the Member States; (ii) the mutual recognition of authorizations within the Community; and (iii) the establishment at Community level of a positive list of active substances which may be used in biocidal products. Member States shall prescribe that a biocidal product shall not be placed on the market and used in their territory unless it has been authorized in accordance with this Directive. Biocidal products must be classified, packaged and labelled in accordance with this Directive.
