Abstract
Information System for Supervision of vector-borne diseases and events in public health is an information system consisting of a set of interconnected information resources and technologies, technical software and methodologies designed to ensure registration, storage, processing and use of information on cases of infectious diseases and events in the field of public health, including poisoning, foodborne illnesses and acute occupational diseases. Information System ensures digitalization of systematic and continuous collection, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of health data in regard of vector-borne diseases and public health events in context of their distribution in time, space, population group and analysis of risk factors for contracting these diseases, including also within epidemiological studies. The overall goal of the Information System is to improve process for recording, managing and reporting cases of vector-borne diseases and events in the field of public health. The main functions of the Information System are: (1) the formation of an Information System database reflecting registered notifications of cases of vector-borne diseases and public health events, which are assigned an identification number, and information about their management throughout the entire life cycle; the main functions in the formation of the database are registration and updating of data, as well as exclusion of information objects: (a) registration, notification and registration on the basis of forms approved by the Ministry of Health; consists of assigning a unique identification number to an accounting object and entering a specified amount of data into the Information System database; (b) data update; consists of systematically updating the database when data on information objects is changed or supplemented; (c) deregistration/archiving; represents a change in the status of an information object, rather than a physical exclusion of data about the object; (2) the formation of a database that reflects records of requests for laboratory tests/analysis, consists of entering and updating data and information as a result of laboratory processes: (a) registration and recording of calls for laboratory tests/analysis; (b) management of analyzes and their results; (c) creation and management of a centralized catalog of laboratory tests; (d) ensuring traceability, history and correlation of laboratory tests; (e) reporting and interpretation of laboratory results; (f) control and management of processes; (3) formation of a database that reflects records of the vaccination process: (a) recording and management of information about the vaccine; (b) accounting and management of the vaccination process; (c) creating, downloading and printing a vaccination certificate; (d) pre-registration for vaccination; (e) taking into account side effects when administering immunobiological drugs; (4) development of a database that allows contact tracing to interrupt chains of transmission and prevent further transmission of the disease: (a) investigation of outbreaks and public health events generated by the Information System; (b) smart contact tracing; (c) identifying links between individual records and existing outbreaks/events; (d) view cases and contacts in on-board mode; (e) viewing transmission chains; (f) reporting; and (5) information support.
