Abstract
This Regulation establishes that National system of epidemiological surveillance and control of vector-borne diseases and events in public health provides for integrated cooperation activities and coordination aimed at improving the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases provided for in the Annex. It also includes zoonoses (diseases common to animals and humans). The epidemiological surveillance system is designed for: (a) indicator-based control of vector-borne diseases; and (b) accounting, analysis and response measures when identifying events with a negative impact on public health, surveillance of public health events, including through the implementation of an early warning and rapid response system. The National Agency for Public Health is the competent authority responsible for supervision, organization and coordination of prevention and control of vector-borne diseases. List of vector-borne diseases subject to registration and notification, shall be approved and updated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, based on the epidemiological situation in the country, region and in the world.
