Abstract
This Law establishes legal grounds for the protection of consumers by the state. It ensures protection of human life and health in the following cases: (a) manufacturing, import, conservation, storage, labelling, transport and trade of foodstuffs against fraud and adulteration; (b) food supply to internal market. All foodstuffs supplied to internal market shall be accompanied by compliance certificate. Manufacturing, storage, supply to market and trade of foodstuffs not complying with compulsory quality requirements and adulterated food shall be prohibited. Import, supply and trade of expired foodstuffs and modification of the expiry date on labels and packages shall be prohibited. The manufacturer shall specify expiry date on labels and packages.
