Law No. 136-XIV on natural gas.

This Law establishes basic principles of organization and regulation of production, storage, transportation, distribution, supply and consumption of natural gas, and also consumer protection system. Production, storage, transportation, distribution and supply of natural gas shall be licensed. Storage of natural gas of the amount not exceeding 0.1 million cubic metres in the reservoirs shall not be subject to licensing. The Act consists of eight Sections divided into 36 articles: (1) general provisions; (2) administrative plenary powers; (3) licensing; (4) right of access to gas pipelines; (5) production, storage, transportation, distribution and supply of natural gas; (6) legal relations between the participants of natural gas market; (7) tariff regulation; and (8) conclusive and transitional provisions. Licences shall be issued to legal persons registered on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and have in stock finances, technical equipment and skilled personnel.
