Abstract
Mercantile Marine Navigation Code shall be applicable to: (a) fishing vessels; (b) marine subsoil exploration vessels; (c) sanitary, quarantine and other vessels; (d) marine environment protection vessels; and (e) marine research vessels. The state supervision over mercantile marine navigation shall be carried out for the purpose of protection and conservation of marine environment and certification of equipment on board. Fishing gear shall be integral part of board equipment of the fishing vessels. Fishing vessels must be in possession of international safety certificate except for fishing vessels used for fish processing and transportation of fish and other aquatic biodiversity, scientific research and training fishing vessels. Shipowner shall be liable for oil pollution from ship.
