Abstract
This Law regulates the conditions for the use of genetically modified organisms, and products containing them/consisting of/or deriving from genetically modified organisms, including their use in closed systems, intentional introduction into the environment, as well as the marketing, handling, transportation, packaging, transit through the territory of Montenegro, marking, processing and additional measures for the prevention and elimination of harmful effects.
The Law is divided into XII Chapters and 76 articles. Chapters are the following: Basic provisions (I); Management principles (II); Powers in the implementation of the Law (III); Genetically modified organisms (IV); Use of GMOs in closed systems (V); Deliberate release of GMOs into the environment (VI); Transport and cross-border transmission (VII); Renewal of approval, marking, handling and treatment in case of accidents (VIII); Registers of genetically modified organisms (IX); Inspection (X); Penalty provisions (XI); Transitional and final provisions (XII).
