Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the detailed conditions as regards the import and marketing of poultry (such as hens/chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks and other similar birds) for the purpose of their breeding, production, reproduction, slaughtering and traffic of day-old hens and their eggs.
This Regulation sets various hygiene and sanitary rules, quarantine provisions, inspection and disease control requirements.
This text further transposes some of the provisions contained in the Council Directive 2009/158/EC of 30 November 2009 on animal health conditions governing intra-Community trade in, and imports from third countries of, poultry and hatching eggs
The Annex is also part of this publication (full technical and sanitary issues).
