Abstract
This Act provides for limitation of liability by shipowners and salvors regarding specified claims in relation with maritime transport of goods and passengers and provides for the possibility of constitution of a limitation fund. The Act also provides for distribution of moneys from a limitation fund.
This Act shall not apply to claims relating to oil pollution damage within the meaning of the International Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damage or to claims subject to any international convention or national legislation governing or prohibiting limitation of liability for nuclear damage and other specified claims.
