Decision on the establishment of the public company for forest management.

This Decision proclaims the establishment of the Public Enterprise for the Management of Forests (state ownership forests for economic purposes).
The Public Enterprise for Forest Management operates under the company name Public Enterprise for Forest Management "Macedonian Forests" – based in the capital city Skopje. The main activity of the Public Enterprise for Forest Management is: - growing forests (maintenance, care, restoration, reclamation, and reconstruction of forests and thickets, afforestation in forests, clearings and erosive lands); - use of forests (cutting of trees, production of forest assortments, collection and production of other forest products, namely forest fruits, medicinal plants or their parts , mushrooms, lichens, moss, seeds, resin, stone, etc., putting into circulation wood and other forest products, as well as using forests for tourism, hunting and recreation); - protection of forests (against illegal appropriation and use, fires, plant diseases and pests, livestock grazing, defoliation, illegal collection of other forest products and other damages). In addition to these activities, the Public Enterprise for Forest Management also carries out: - hunting and hunting tourism; - organizing and carrying out delivery of forest assortments; - organizing and carrying out transport of forest assortments; - primary processing of wood; - processing of other forest products; - mark for cutting forests in state and private ownership; - issuance of accompanying documentation for the transfer and transportation of wood; - preparation of projects, programs and other documentation related to the activity of the public enterprise, except for the preparation of hunting and business bases and plans for forest management; - construction, reconstruction and maintenance of forest roads; - production and processing of forest seed; - production of forest planting material; - export of wood and other forest products and processing of wood and other forest products; - procurement of machinery, equipment, repair materials and spare parts for own needs from import or domestic production. The public forest management company also cultivates and protects forests for special purposes.
