Abstract
This Law regulates the type of liability meant for producers after completion at the stage of consumption of products released on the national market, and the manner of its realization for the purpose of collection, processing and recycling of special waste streams created by manufacturers. This text also sets conditions, procedure and manner of organization due to realization of the extended responsibility, the conditions and the manner of financing of prescribed measures that are aimed to extended the liability of manufacturers; rights and obligations of municipalities and other entities that have a share in the handling of such special flows of waste, as well as other issues that are important for timely and complete realization of extended liability of manufacturers. Special waste stream is the total quantity of waste belonging to one group which occurs with the use of certain types of products that are marketed in Republic of Northern Macedonia, for which the producer is responsible in accordance with its share in the total quantity of that type of products placed on the national market. Chapter VIII prescribes the penalty provisions.
This Law is harmonized with the provisions of the Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on waste and repealing certain Directives.
