It creates a multi-level payment structure based on specific production volumes, quality standards, and the delivery of goods to markets. By providing financial incentives for production levels in the cattle, sheep, goat, and pig sectors, the program intends to change the market position of domestic animal products within local and international trade.
The document mandates strict compliance with national and international food safety protocols as a prerequisite for financial support. It also introduces the legal groundwork for a systematic approach to food waste management and the regulation of food surpluses. It provides financial incentives for the implementation of Green Agenda principles, specifically regarding sustainable soil management and greenhouse gas emission reduction. Furthermore, it facilitates climate adaptation through the modernization of irrigation systems and the subsidization of renewable energy infrastructure on agricultural holdings.
