Programme for suppression and eradication of brucellosis in sheep and goats for the period from 2016 to 2020.

This Programme prescribes the measures for the protection of human health and animal health by providing basic prerequisites for placing on the market and export of live sheep and goats and their products for the period 2016 to 2020. Object of this text is the suppression and eradication of brucellosis in sheep and goats.
The measures for the control and eradication of brucellosis are applied in all sheep and goat holdings or farms present and recognized as such on the national territory. Vaccination issues are also defined. Proceedings and procedures in relation to the declaration of the farm health status are stipulated in articles 11, 16 and 20. Article 3 sets the rules related to the separation of farms in relation to their health status.
The main purpose of this Programme is to achieve and maintain the “officially free” health status of farms and holdings for sheep and goats in relation to the possible presence of the disease called brucellosis. Grazing and animal transport rules are also part of this text.
