Regulation on annual veterinary measures and controls for the protection of public health from contaminants or residues that are transferred from animals or products of animal origin in 2019.

This Regulation determines the veterinary measures and related controls for the protection of public health in terms of protection and monitoring over the effective presence of contaminants or residues that are transferred from animals to food products of animal origin. This set of measures is here programmed for the year 2019 and shall be executed on the national territory (Plan for monitoring over the presence of residues and unauthorized substances in live animals, products and raw materials of animal origin for 2019).
Monitoring of animal breeding and primary production of food of animal origin is made to detect the presence of residues from veterinary medicinal products, unauthorized substances and live-in contaminants in animals, foodstuffs and food of animal origin, in order to protect the health of people and in order to provide all necessary conditions for unobstructed and generally safe and controlled trade in animal origin products.
This kind of monitoring is carried out in animal breeding facilities (farms) and facilities for processing and production of the above mentioned products of animal origin. The monitoring of residues, unauthorized substances and contaminants is also carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Food Safety, among other related documents and legislation as listed in article 2 (paragraph 2) of this text.
