Regulation on the ban of import of live animals, products and animal by-products for protection against the introduction of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus in the Republic of Macedonia originating in the Republic of Bulgaria.

This Regulation sets the trading ban on imports on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia of live animals, products and by-products of animal origin, if originating from the Republic of Bulgaria, here only as regards the Plovdiv Region. The ban is established in order to protect the territory from the possible introduction of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus.
The prohibition object of this text shall apply to the following consignments: poultry, such as chickens, turkeys, pearls, ducks, geese, carvers, pigeons, pheasants, partridges and ostriches (ratitae) reproduced or kept in a closed or enclosed space for breeding or storage for breeding, production of meat or eggs for feeding or restoring game populations; hatching eggs, and eggs for incubation spilled from poultry; birds, and animals of the Aves class, with some exceptions, see article 1 (paragraph 2) for details; consumer eggs from poultry and feathered game ;meat, minced meat, meat preparations and mechanically skimmed poultry meat and feathered game meat; meat products consisting of or containing poultry meat and feathered game meat; crude pet food and unprocessed food material for food animals containing parts of poultry meat and feathered game; feathered game trophies that are not been properly treated-prepared.
Article 2 sets the criteria for exemption from these rules.
In terms of rules provided by this text, the relevant act of the European legislation is the 2007/777/EC: Commission Decision of 29 November 2007 laying down the animal and public health conditions and model certificates for imports of certain meat products and treated stomachs, bladders and intestines for human consumption from third countries and repealing Decision 2005/432/EC (see the end of the text for full explanation).
