Abstract
This Regulation sets the trading ban on imports on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia of live animals, products and by-products of animal origin, if originating from the Yambol region, territory of the Republic of Bulgaria. This ban is established in order to protect the territory from the possible entry or outbreak of the plague virus in small ruminants in the Republic of Macedonia originating in the Republic of Bulgaria (animal transmissible disease: Peste des petits ruminants (PPR), also known as'goat plague', is a viral disease of goats and sheep).
The prohibition object of this text shall apply to the following consignments: live domestic and wild sheep and goats, seeds, ova and embryos of domestic and wild sheep and goats originating in the Republic of Bulgaria; meat of domestic and wild sheep and goats, meat products from domestic and wild sheep and goats, processed meat from domestic and wild sheep and goats; milk from domestic and wild sheep and goats, milk products from domestic and wild sheep and goats; as well as by-products from domestic and wild sheep and goats.
Article 2 sets the criteria for exemption from these rules.
