Regulation on measures for the control and eradication of Avian influenza.

This Regulation determines the manner and related procedure as regards the reporting over the presence of Avian influenza (animal disease) in poultry and wild birds, including the necessary measures for to be taken for suppression and eradication of such animal disease.
These rules shall be used as preventive measures related to surveillance, early detection of avian influenza and an increase in the degree of awareness and level of preparedness for the risks of avian influenza; minimum control measures to be applied in the case of the hotspot of avian influenza in poultry or other birds and early detection of the possible spread of such disease or virus in mammals; additional measures for controlling the spread of influenza viruses that originate from birds of other species. Articles 36, 37 and 38 are setting issues on vaccination.
This Regulation further harmonizes the national legislation with the provisions contained in the Council Directive 2005/94/EC of 20 December 2005 on Community measures for the control of avian influenza and repealing Directive 92/40/EEC.
