Regulation on the quantity of biodegradable components in the waste that may be disposed.

This Regulation, based on the provisions of the national Law on waste management, determines the quantity of biodegradable components in waste which may be deposited. The purpose of this text is to implement and apply rules regarding the prevention (also environmental pollution and risks to human life and health), recycling, composting, production of biogas, or other manners of utilizing the matter and energy of biodegradable waste, with the purpose of achieving a reduction in the quantity or volume of biodegradable components in disposed waste by: reducing global greenhouse gas emissions; conservation of natural resources; avoidance of useless land grabbing; reduction of dependence on fossil fuels; stimulating economic activities, especially in rural areas; prevention or reduction of negative impacts of biodegradable ingredients in waste.
