Regulation on special requirements for extraction solvents used in the production of food and food ingredients, their use conditions in terms of the process of producing the food category and the maximum allowed levels of residues of extraction solvents in end products and the maximum permitted levels of residues of the extraction agents in the aromas that are from natural sources of aromas.

This Regulation prescribes the special requirements for extraction solvents or food extractors, which can be used in the production of food and food ingredients, including their conditions for use in terms of food production, maximum allowed levels of residues of such agents in finished food products, and maximum permitted levels of residues of extraction agents in aromas that are obtained from natural sources. The use of food additives, vitamins and other nutritional additives should not results in food containing levels of residues from extraction solvents that are harmful for human health.
This Regulation further harmonizes the national legislation as regards certain European Union documents as listed in the text (such as Directive 2009/32/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States on extraction solvents used in the production of foodstuffs and food ingredients, see the end of page 1 for full list.
