Abstract
This Regulation determines the special security requirements for food supplements, also in terms of food safety issues.
Article 4 declares that food supplements can only be marketed and labelled if in accordance with this text, and they should be placed on the market and distributed to the ultimate consumer only as a prepackaged food product. These rules shall not apply to medicinal products for human use regulated by the other laws.
This Regulation further harmonizes the national legislation with the provisions contained in the Directive 2002/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 June 2002 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to food supplements; and other, see end of page 1 for the complete list.
