Regulation on specific criteria and requirements for the purity of additives that may be contained in food.

This Regulation determines the specific criteria, chemical requirements for the purity, and conditions for the use of additives that may be contained in food and foodstuff, including those classified as colors and sweeteners, enzymes, flavorings, and nutrients.
This Regulation also harmonizes the national legislation as regards several European Union and Council regulation and directives as listed in the text (such as Commission Regulation (EU) No 231/2012 of 9 March 2012 laying down specifications for food additives listed in Annexes II and III to Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council; Commission Regulation (EU) No 1050/2012 of 8 November 2012 amending Regulation (EU) No 231/2012 laying down specifications for food additives listed in Annexes II and III to Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards Polyglycitol syrup, and other, see the middle paragraph in the article 1).
