Abstract
This Act introduces general safety requirements with respect to goods placed on the market in Mauritius and grant powers to the Minister to make such safety Regulations as he or she thinks fit for the purpose of this Act. The Act further empowers the enforcement authority to serve on any person a prohibition notice prohibiting that person from supplying any goods which in its opinion are not safe for use or consumption and requires a person to comply with the notice if appeal to the Minister has failed.
