Abstract
These Regulations make provision generally for the importation of goods in Mauritius. They prohibit the importation of “prohibited goods”, i.e. the goods specified in the Third Schedule to these Regulations and require an import permit for the importation of “restricted”, i.e. the goods specified in the Fourth Schedule. Controlled goods include specified food, fishing vessels, factory ships and other vessels for processing or preserving fishery products. Prohibited goods include aerosol spray containing benzene, PCBs and PCTs, round logs and timber products from Liberia, ivory and tortoise shell, and some fishing gear.
