Abstract
These Regulations make provision generally for the importation of goods in Mauritius. They prohibit the importation of “prohibited goods”, i.e. the goods specified in the Second Schedule to these Regulations and require an import permit for the importation of “controlled goods”, i.e. the goods specified in the First Schedule. Controlled goods include specified fruits and vegetables, salted fish and other food, fishing vessels, factory ships and other vessels for processing or preserving fishery products. Prohibited goods include ivory and tortoise shell and underwater fishing guns.

The Supplies (Control of Imports) Regulations 1991 are revoked.Government Notice No. 135 of 1999 consolidated as at 14 June 2005.A Minor amendment is made to Schedule 5 of these Regulations by the Consumer Protection (Control of Imports) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 (GN No. 69 of 2014).
