Decree No. 4/2010 creating the National Administration of Fisheries (ADNAP).

This Decree, consisting of 9 articles, creates the National Administration of Fisheries. This Administration aims to achieve the following objectives: controlling fishing activities and guaranteeing the conservation of aquatic resources according to the legislation on fisheries; monitoring the state of the fisheries exploitation and give respective environmental impact assessments; proposing, adopting and implementing needed management measures in order to preserve the sustainability of the fisheries sector; guaranteeing the functioning of the participatory management system; promoting the exercise of responsible fisheries and follow up on the development of new fishing technologies; advising the Ministy of Fisheries in matters related to the fishing management and legislation.
