Decree No. 90/2019 renaming the National Fisheries Administration (ADNAP) in the National Fisheries Administration, IP (ADNAP, IP).

This Decree aims at modifying the name of the National Fisheries Administration (ADNAP), in the National Fisheries Administration, IP (ADNAP, IP). It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Administration, whose attributions are: designing policies and strategies for the responsible and sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture; monitor the process of granting fishing rights and guarantee their implementation; licensing fishing and aquaculture operations, as well as establishing control mechanisms; propose the regulation of fishing and aquaculture activities; ensure the management, conservation, exploitation and sustainable cultivation of fisheries resources promoting the assessment of related environmental impacts; implement plans and measures for the management of areas for fishing and aquaculture activities; promote institutional involvement of fishing communities in the participatory management of fisheries resources; ensure compliance with fisheries and aquaculture management measures issued by regional and international organizations to which the country is a member; and the functioning of the participatory management system for fisheries and aquaculture.
