Decree No. 78/2022 adjusting competences, autonomy, management and operation of the National Agency for the control of environmental quality (AQUA).

This Decree adjusts competences, autonomy, management and operation of the National Agency for the control of environmental quality (AQUA) under the Ministry of Environment. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of AQUA, I.P entitled to: a) Develop research to monitor the levels of contamination or environmental pollution and guarantee the sustainable development of inland and coastal natural resources; b) Implementation of measures aimed to improve research, monitoring, auditing and environmental quality control; c) Monitor the use of land, the implementation of territory planning instruments, the exploitation and use of forestry resources and control of environmental quality; d) Guarantee cooperation with national and international entities; e) Complaint of contracts and agreements in the context of public-private and community partnerships and ensure their implementation, etc.
